Behavior Consulting Services

To make the session more efficient, I must receive a history form from you before the consultation. Depending on the type of consultation and the problem, I may also request photos, diagrams and videos (if available) to help demonstrate the nature of the behavior problem.

The following types of consultations are offered:

  • Housecall consultations:

I will come to your home for the consultation and be able to see your pet in his/her own environment. This is usually far better than driving to a strange setting and having to allow time for your pet to adjust to the new surroundings. Oftentimes, the behaviors observed while at the clinic may be different from those you have observed at home. An initial consultation will last from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Housecalls are resticted to the Ithaca area.

  • Office consultations:

The initial clinic consultation is also from 1 1/2 to 2 hours but is held at my office instead of your home. The office setting is quiet and spacious, not the hustle and bustle of a hospital or university, and you will be seeing one doctor (me) instead of students and doctors in a crowded room. The clinic consultation may be more practical if you are a distance away as you will not incur the travel costs associated with a housecall consultation. The office is located in Ithaca, N.Y. A map will be provided upon request.

  • Telephone consultations:

For people who cannot travel to Ithaca or Syracuse and who cannot afford the travel costs associated with a housecall, a telephone consult may be the best alternative. In this case, I will contact your veterinarian in advance of the consult to discuss your pet's medical record. At the scheduled appointment time, you will call me and the consult will last one hour.
